Campgrounds in Fort Benton
Are you traveling to Fort Benton with your camper in tow? Great!
There are three options in Fort Benton for parking your camper the night before and after the trip: Canoe Launch Campground, Benton RV Park & Campground, and D & S RV Park. You can easily find their contact information from a quick Google search. We definitely recommend you call ahead of time. The Canoe Camp Launch Campground at the fairgrounds is non-reservable. It offers standard pit toilets but no other hookups or facilities. However, it is located right on the river. The other two campgrounds offer hookups and additional facilities. During the trip, you will park your camper at our headquarters. We have a very large parking area. You can also run an extension cord to our facility to keep your fridge running.
Fort Benton Museums and Attractions
We recommend you take the time to visit shops, restaurants and other establishments and chat with the locals. Fort Benton is unique in that there are virtually no buildings actually on the waterfront. One can meander peacefully on a paved path with the quaint buildings of downtown Fort Benton on one side and the magnificent river on the other.
Tour the fort which is packed to the brim with period furnishings, buffalo robes, beads, trinkets, blankets and other period trade goods. There is also a large collection of fur trade era items and also displays a blacksmith & carpenters shop.

Take a voyage into the past and through the history of the Upper Missouri River and Fort Benton. Dive into how Fort Benton became a fur trade post and lawless river port.

This fabulous collection displays the past one hundred years of life through the Montana plains focusing on stories of homesteaders and more.
Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument Interpretive Center
This center offers natural and cultural history of the National Monument, wildlife on the river and more.

You are traveling to Montana (maybe for the first time), you have booked a multi-day canoe and camping trip with us (hopefully :-), and you are thinking, ‘Well, I am coming all that way, I should probably take a few extra days to explore more of this vast state.’ You nailed it! We love this great state and know there are so, so many places to visit and sites to see and understand the distance between them can be formidable. Thus, we have complied a (very) short list of other recommended places to visit to either compliment your experience on one of our luxury guided canoe & camping trips or offer a contrasting adventure that gives you a multifaceted experience.

We provide all necessary equipment, including canoes or kayaks (based on availability), paddles, life jackets, seat backrests, camp tables and chairs and dry bags for personal items. We offer expert guides and as must historical, geological and wildlife interpretation you can handle. We will provide a packing list for your convenience.

We require a $75 deposit per person to secure your spot. We require final payment one week prior to the trip departure. Reservations made within one week of trip departure must be paid in full at the time of booking.

Deposits are non-refundable. If you cancel a week prior to the launch date, you will not be charged the final payment amount. If you cancel within the week, and we have collected the final payment, this full amount is also non-refundable.
If you need to change the dates, we may be able to transfer your funds to that dates, but we can’t guarantee this. Each cancelation or rescheduling request will be handled on a case by case basis. We understand cancelations happen, but we also need to provide regular and guaranteed work for our amazingly hard working guides. Thank you for your understanding.
